Plessey Engineer completes Rotary Youth Leadership Award

One of our Engineers, Ross Geddes, participated in the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) programme in 2022 with the Roborough Rotary Club.

Ross was one of our graduate engineers in 2019, working in the device team. He was selected to participate in RYLA for 2022, a programme for 18-30-year-olds to develop their leadership skills.  Plessey has supported several staff members through RYLA, developing a partnership with the Roborough Rotary Club.

Ross says of the experience: ‘The week-long course with RYLA involved talks and activities involving the theme of ‘leadership’ and learning the skills and qualities associated with effective leadership. The course allowed a unique insight into people’s leadership experiences from multiple walks of life which otherwise would have been harder to appreciate were it not for this opportunity. The effect that this course had on me was a hugely positive one by helping me to truly acknowledge and practice situations in which leadership qualities are necessary.’

We look forward to continuing to develop future leaders alongside Roborough Rotary for years to come.
